Line-side Lean supermarket flow racks

Reduce transportation times, optimize space, and pick up materials using method.

Why do they improve the line-side arrangement?

Lean supermarkets are efficient storage systems designed to feed production lines directly through an actual Line-side supermarket flow rack.

These systems use gravity flow racks with FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method, allowing materials to be delivered in the correct order and precisely when needed, according to the pull and just-in-time philosophy.

Unlike traditional flow racks, lean supermarkets do not accumulate stock; instead, they ensure a continuous flow of materials that are always visible and easily accessible to the operator.

Continuous flow, total visibility, and pull-based management

In all our gravity flow racks, the picking area is separate from the replenishment area, allowing the materials to be picked uninterruptedly by the operator while the replenisher, also known as the Water Spider or Mizusumashi, loads from the rear

Instant stock visibility functions like a built-in Kanban system, which is essential for maintaining a continuous flow of materials and applying pull logic correctly. This eliminates operational disruptions and unnecessary waste, resulting in a more efficient and smoothly running production line.

Reduced stock, improved quality, and immediate check

Lean supermarkets directly contribute to waste reduction (Muda) by limiting work-in-progress (WIP) and unnecessary stock. The lean gravity flow rack design inherently limits stock, avoiding overloads and making material management more intuitive. FIFO also improves quality by ensuring that older materials are used first, reducing the risk of obsolescence and facilitating checks.

Standardized and clearly visible workstations help the operator work more quickly, accurately, and safely.

Ergonomics, modularity, and a system that evolves with the company

In addition to enhancing efficiency and quality, our gravity flow racks provide optimal ergonomics through sloped arrangement designed to minimise strain, twisting, and repetitive movements. The result is a safer and more productive work environment.

Thanks to the Easysae® System, Lean supermarkets can be easily expanded or reconfigured to accommodate production changes, such as new layouts, new products to assemble, or different assembly rates. A flexible investment designed to grow alongside your company.
